Over the last 30 years, the Australia Council has supported and promoted Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and organisations, including Archie Roach, Christine Anu, Deborah Mailman, Doris Pilkington, Ken Thaiday, Bangarra, Banduk Marika, Leah Purcell, Yirra Yaakin and Yothu Yindi as well as the next generation of young and creative artists such as Wire MC, Emma Donovan, Alick Tipoti, Shakaya and Jason Pitt.
